Antoine Griezmann reveals potential Atletico Madrid exit date hinges on France’s World Cup qualifier

Antoine Griezmann has suggested that his potential transfer to Manchester United will not be announced before June 9 and says his future is now in the hands of Atletico Madrid’s president.

United are reportedly close to securing a deal for the France international but will need to activate his £86 million release clause.

Griezmann is currently on international duty with France as Didier Deschamps’ men face Paraguay in a friendly on Friday before travelling to Sweden for their World Cup qualifier on June 9.

France finish with another friendly at home to England on June 13, while Griezmann is due to go on his honeymoon before the end of the month.

The 26-year-old has revealed that he has discussed his future with Atletico boss Diego Simeone, as well as his team-mates, but claims his transfer will ultimately be decided by the Spanish club’s president, Enrique Cerezo.

‘I’m good with my club, but my future will be decided this summer,’ the France forward told Minuto 0.

‘My agents are talking with Atletico Madrid. We will see what happens.
