Antoine Griezmann Takes to Twitter to Seemingly Pledge Loyalty to Atletico Madrid Amid Transfer Saga

Antoine Griezmann has taken to Twitter to demonstrate his commitment to Atletico Madrid amid speculation over his future with the club.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with Manchester United in the past few weeks after the Frenchman dropped a hint that he may be on the move in an interview on French television.

However, Griezmann appears to have committed his future to Atletico and he tweeted his support for the club in the wake of their transfer ban upheld on Thursday.

The tweet, which translates as ‘now more than ever’, seems to suggest that the Frenchman is staying put at the Vicente Calderon.

With the Spanish club unable to sign players in the coming transfer window, losing Griezmann would have been catastrophic for Diego Simeone. However, the forward appears to have put the manager’s mind at rest with his latest social media post.

The news will be a blow for Manchester United fans, with many confident of securing the services of the 26-year-old in the summer. It is thought that Jose Mourinho will now turn his attention to Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, who could cost the Red Devils in excess of £50m.

The United boss will be desperate to bring in a goalscorer after his side scored just 54 times in the Premier League last season, 23 less than the team directly above them in the standings, Arsenal.
